Subject: Exciting Changes in Outdoor Engagement!
Hi Everyone: I am pleased to announce an addition to the Outdoor Engagement Department that will help AMC make significant progress in reaching our Vision 2020 goals of for engaging more families and kids in our programs and at our facilities:
Effective immediately, Faith Salter is being promoted to Director of Volunteer Engagement. Faith will continue to oversee her Chapter Relations work, the Volunteer Programs Task Force, Climate Change Outreach, Conservation and Executive Office (until late spring/early summer, 2012) duties. Faith’s new duties will include enhancing the existing strong partnership between trained, skilled volunteers and their paid staff counterparts, and developing and creating new communities of volunteers in the region to serve as a foundation for emergent strategies in support of Vision 2020.
Specifically, this position will expand opportunities for families and kids to get outdoors by working with Chapters and volunteers. Faith will spend approximately 55% of her time on her new duties, which clearly align with her existing work. The position is part of our broader Vision 2020 goals in working with Chapters and other partners to connect more families and children to AMC. Faith will continue to bring the volunteer point of view to staff and will continue to ensure that Club messaging and policies are properly communicated to the wide volunteer community both within and alongside existing structures. Based in Boston, the position will require close collaboration with staff across the organization.
Please join me in congratulating Faith and in supporting her as she takes on these new tasks and responsibilities in support of AMC's mission!
Dave
