How to enter a meetup event.

Go to www.meetup.com/amc-narragansett-chapter and login. On the right side below the calendar at the bottom see your meetup group. Click on the little "gear" icon and click on Schedule a Meetup. Note that this is where you can do other chores. Not all the options seen will be available to an "Event Organizer, since this is the perspective from the "Organizer" account.

The following form is what you will see if click on the line "Expand all sections".

Fill out the form with the following suggestions. The "What should we do?" should reflect your AMC trip. Since our titles are quite short and might not be complete enough for someone outside the AMC, expand on the title so the event is clearly defined.

You may use the "Select a place:" section or you may just include the location that you have in your regular Gazette write up.

The "Additional details:" should be similar to what is in the description of your AMC listing. For things like the Hike and Social Wednesday walks, you might expand the description. Meet at the Gazebo on S. Main St. is not enough.

The "Who's hosting this Meetup?" will have your name checked, but you can add another qualified leader if you wish.

"Automatically repeat this Meetup" should not be changed from the [Don't Repeat].

"Charging for this Meetup?" should not be used, since we do not charge for AMC trips. I do not expect that we will announce AMC events that have a charge on the Meetup site.

The "RSVP settings" are up to you. You can limit the number of attendees, taking into consideration that there will be AMC members signing up the regular way. So don't end up with a group of people that is too large to control.

It is suggested that you leave the "Email settings" as the default checked. That way you can keep track of everything.

This next one is important. "Ask questions when members RSVP" is where you can ask a list of questions as to the qualifications of the participants. Don't be shy. The better the questions are phrased, the better the meeting will be.

For Meetup questions there are several sources on the meetup site. Here are several to start with.
