Narragansett Chapter, Jack Schempp — Since joining AMC, Jack has been one of our most prolific and active leaders. Since 1998, he has lead countless skiing, bicycling and hiking trips for Narragansett Chapter. He has also led many inter-chapter trips and has been an active Major Excursions leader for over 10 years often leading multiple trips in one year. Jack's most significant contribution to the NA Chapter has been in his role as Conservation Committee Co-Chair which he has held since 1998. Jack routinely comes up with new ideas and suggestions for the Chapter's conservation programs and is always willing to take the lead. Jack is a past recipient of AMC's Marian Pychowski award and in 2002, Jack received the NA Chapter's Appie of the Year Award. Jack's high level of energy, enthusiasm and his willingness to contribute his time and talents is evident in the many social events that Jack plans for the Chapter as well as his regular attendance at the monthly NA Executive Board meetings and the wonderful job he does recruiting and mentoring new leaders. Jack's long-term dedication and commitment to the Chapter and Club make him a perfect recipient for the AMC's Volunteer Leadership Award.
