General Information

The Young Members group is for members who make up the next generation, relative to the "average" generation of the AMC members in our Chapter. People relate and congregate within their own age groups, not withstanding that they all enjoy the same outdoor activities. The Young Members group allows members of the younger generation to participate in events with their social peers. While not rigorous, this means members in their 20's and 30's. Events that are set up specifically for this age will be designated in the listing (though persons in other age brackets may attend if they wish).

Participation Requirements

The requirements are determined by the specific activity you are participating in. Such as, if you are going on a Northern Hikes trip you must meet those requirements.

Leadership Requirements

• The overall AMC Leadership Requirements and Guidelines will apply to all our leaders.
• Each trip leader although leading trips sponsored by the Young Members group, must at least meet the Narragansett chapter leadership training requirements of the activity he/she is leading, i.e.; a local hike – the leader must have met the requirements of the local hikes committee, if sea kayaking, then the sea kayaking committee requirements, etc.
